Sundays in Sydney & Surf City

Last weekend was a flurry of cycle excitement for two coastal cities.

The lovely ladies of Sydney Cycle Chic met up to celbrate the first day of Spring. To read more about their ride and see more imagery head on over to {the newly launched} Sydney Cycle Chic site. 

Meanwhile across the Pacific and above the equator - Surf City {aka Huntington Beach} got a dose of cute when Cycle Chic Sundays rolled down to the boardwalk to enjoy some retro surf rock down at the iconic HB Pier Plaza. We shimmied and shook to the tunes of the Eliminators , played some bacci ball barefoot in the sand , and soaked up the sun.



We are also excited to announce the highly anticipated addition of Sacramento to the Cycle Chic Sunday family! The lovely and stylish Lorena of Sac Cycle Chic will host the first {of many} Sunday rides in the California capitol this Sunday , Aug 22. Cycle Chic Sunday Santa Barbara {Serenity at its finest!}

As promised our friends from Santa Barbara had a most splendid ride on Sunday.

Miss Christa gives us a brief account of their ride

"...We trailed off from a local bicycle shop, WheelHouse, to dine at Jeannine's cafe in Montecito. On route, we passed Butterfly Beach and the Andree Clark Bird Refuge. Stunning ocean and mountain views were nearly always in sight. It is also quite pleasant that for the majority of the route, there are protected bike paths. Serenity at its finest..."

Sun & Fun from Cycle Chic Jacksonville

Over on the east coast the vibrant Miss Katie and her crew have having a blast with Cycle Chic Sundays! So much so that they have more beutiful bike lovin' pictures then you can ring your bell at.

Pedal Movement - Bicycle H.U.B

Due to the increased participation of lovely new cities in Cycle Chic Sundays - our local OC/Long Beach gals have been pretty busy getting things sorted.  The growth is good - but very time consuming!!

Luckily we were able to take some 'we' time and check out the Cycles of Sounds party over at Pedal Movement - Bicycle H.U.B . 

I was not surprised to see that a majority of the party goers arrive by bike.The bike community in Long Beach is very diverse and comprised of a healthy mix of young , old , male and female. This in turn makes for a wide variety of bicycles and fashions.

The workshop portion of the shop is a really fantastic old house. There are two 'cost free' rooms that provide limited services and community information. As you walk towards the right of the house you reach the service dept. It's all DIY - and they charge a flat rate [$5 / hr]. The garage is well equip with all the tools and parts needed to fix up your whip and the guys working there are awesome!

After we got the tour we headed back out to the party where we watched some live painting , listened to some remarkable DJ sets , and  noshed on homemade Vietnamese spring rolls.

We knew it was just a matter of time before the 'right' coasters got in on the Cycle Chic Sunday fun! From the looks of things our friends down in Florida had lots of FUN & lots of SUN!
