Cycle Chic Sunday - Sydney!

Alas! Cycle Chic Sunday's made it's first international debut last weekend in beautiful Sydney, Australia.

Led by the lovely and chic Miss Saskia, the group of chic cyclists [and vintage enthusiats] cycled and shopped at various Sydney hot spots. Riding Bikes with the Dutch

Last night my friends and I went to the Art Theater on 4th st for the encore showing of Riding Bikes With the Dutch
You would think the title explains the plot and we were surprised to see how the Filmer /director incorporated the budding Bike Culture of Long Beach into the story.

The audience consisted of a colorful cross section of the local community. It was so beautiful to have people young and old sitting together under one roof laughing, applauding, and smiling all in the name of bikes!

The bike valet out front was a visual buffet - choked full of a wide array of two-wheeled machines

Spotted this cute couple along the Venice boardwalk.
They were riding with another couple smiling , laughing & having fun on their bright yellow tandem bicycle.
In between the giggles they spoke cheerfully to each other in Japanese.
What a fabulous vacation they must be having riding bikes along the beach!

Here in California we are preparing for yet another sunshine filled weekend.

It's starting to feel less like Spring and more like Summer - muggy in the mornings but spectacularly sunny by the afternoons.

The spring winds are calming and giving way to still evenings.

I find the most enjoyable perk of riding bikes with friends is the personal interaction

bike hugs!!!

camera-geek-out conversations are much more fun while on bikes.. especially in traffic .. take that cars!!!

stop light chit chat is much more enjoyable outside in the open air! Try it! I guarantee you'll be all smiles :)
